From Europe fly into Las Vegas
Rent a car (Dodge Challenger if you’re a nostalgic European) 4×4 if you’re practical 😉
Drive from Vegas to St. George to start the National Park Tour.
ZION Stay in Springdale (coffee shop opens at 5AM)
- Stayed in St. George
- East Mesa Trail
- East River Trail from East entrance to park
- Observation Point is A MUST
- Narrows *appropriate foot-ware for trekking on both land and rivers*
Bryce Canyon
- Sunrise from Sunrise Point
- Navajo Trail into Figure 8 Loop
Capital Reef “Mars” – Torrey
- Cathedral Trail – 60 miles. Need a 4×4 to drive.
- Advised it was nice at dusk
- FYI there is a river at the start of the trail.. not to be alarmed
- Drive to Mars Research Center
- Drive to Factory Butte
Canyon Land – Moab
- Drivable, get out at observation points
Arches National Park – Moab
- Series of nice short hikes
- If you arrive before 7AM or after 4PM -> FREE Entry.
- Moab to Arizona -> Monument Valley (Seen on Led Zeppelin Album, Forest Gump, Movies)
- Go through Sedona when finishing.. advised to stay in Sedona when doing Monument Valley
